In order to unblock the situation with the approval of the municipality’s budget for the current year, the Mayor’s Office is ready to waive the sanitary tax (taxa de salubrizare). It was 10 lei per month (120 lei per year) for each registered adult resident.

As of today, the Chisinau municipality will have four deputy mayors, as it has been the case for the last six years. These are Olesa Pshenicki, who will be responsible for the financial sector in the capital’s activity, and Victor Pruteanu, responsible for the social direction.

Today, March 1, 2026, Chisinau officially opens the international music festival “Mărcisor 2026”, which will be the main cultural event of the country of spring and will last until March 12. In the temporary budget of Chisinau, which came into force on January 2, 2026, 305 million lei is planned for the construction and repair of roads, Logos Press reported.
