Following a meeting with the Iranian delegation, Gianni Infantino, president of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), announced that the Islamic Republic’s national team will go to the World Cup, Logos Press reported.

All national teams participating in the FIFA World Cup to be held in June-July have been decided. Bosnia and Herzegovina, DR Congo, Iran, Turkey, Czech Republic and Sweden earned the last six tickets. Italy was once again left out of the qualifiers. The failure of Squadra Azzurra is even more crushing because they failed to qualify for the Mundial with more quotas – 48 national teams will play in the USA, Mexico and Canada instead of 32 as before.

A decision by the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has cut World Cup operating costs by more than $100 million three months before the tournament, Logos Press reports.

The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) has announced that the Iranian national team will face serious sanctions if it unilaterally refuses to participate in the World Cup, Logos Press reported.

Sports Minister Ahmad Donyamali has announced that the national team will not be able to participate in the upcoming World Cup, according to Logos Press.
