According to the Chinese Embassy in Moldova, the holiday is timed to the famous Dragon Boat Festival and promises to be a bright immersion in the millennial traditions of the East.
The central part of the program will be an acquaintance with authentic gastronomy. Visitors will be able to taste such traditional dishes as zongzi, jiaozi, baozi and famous Chinese tea. The tasting will be organized with free tickets, the number of which is limited.
The official ceremony will open at 13:00 with a spectacular lion dance, followed by a rich artistic program with the participation of the Teleradio-Moldova National Symphony Orchestra, the Doina Academic Choir and the Codrianca Dance Club.
From 12:00 to 17:00, the square of the Stefan cel Mare Park, where the festival will take place, will be divided into interactive zones, aimed at visitors of all ages. Those who wish will be able to take part in calligraphy and tea ceremony master classes, try on traditional Hanfu costumes or test the latest technological developments – from electric cars to modern smartphones. In addition, themed zones dedicated to traditional games and China’s tourism potential will provide a lively interaction with the values and charm of modern Chinese culture.
For those interested in closer development of bilateral cooperation, the organizers have envisaged a special consultation session to be held at the B.P. Hasdeu Municipal Library (122 Stefan cel Mare si Sfint Blvd.).
As the Chinese Embassy notes, “China Day 2026” is not just a tribute to 5,000 years of history, but also an open invitation to cultural dialog. The guests will enjoy quizzes with prizes and many pleasant surprises to make this day truly memorable.
