It includes the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urban Planning (Bucharest), the “Chisinau-Proiect” Municipal Design Institute, and the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Technical University of Moldova.
To date, the consortium has completed 12 sectoral studies, which form the basis for the development of the city’s new Master Plan.
Specifically, studies have been conducted on economic development, housing construction, municipal infrastructure and utilities, public services, transportation, environmental protection, and natural and man-made risks.
At this stage, a sociodemographic analysis was also conducted, and the municipality’s historical and natural heritage sites were identified.
Next, the phase for developing the development concept and Master Plan documentation will be announced, followed by public consultations, approval, and coordination in accordance with procedures established by law.
The Chisinau Master Plan, approved in 2007, was in effect until 2025. In this context, the process of updating the document began in 2025 with the aim of ensuring continuity in urban planning and adapting the city to current and future needs.
