According to Chisinau Mayor General Ion Ceban, “today, together with colleagues who will supervise the works, as well as with the economic agent who won the tender, we inspected the site.”

We are talking about an area with paving stones, 300 meters long and with a total area of more than 7,300 m².

After several years of work and an increase in the amount of money due to the change in the project, the City Hall managed to obtain authorization to start the work.

We will propose to the government to join the project“.

In the near future, work will be intensively carried out to rehabilitate the sidewalk and structure of the road and sidewalks, construct a bike path, upgrade the storm drainage system and street lighting, and sanitize trees.

The rehabilitation will be done on lots owned by the municipality. “On other plots, in front of the Lukuric Theater, the library, the fountains near the National Palace, we cannot carry out the work,” he added. – Therefore, we will propose the government to join the project and carry out works on them.”

He recalled that the street was previously repaired on August 31, 1989. The project also included the complete renovation of Alexandru cel Bun and Tighina streets.

The repair works were carried out within the second package of the project “Rehabilitation of central streets and modernization of street lighting in the center of Chisinau”, financed by the EBRD and the EIB.
