First, the “Dumitru Matkovski” High School is being renamed the “Dumitru Matkovski Theoretical High School” in response to requests from teachers and parents.
This decision is driven by the positive momentum in the school’s development (growth in student enrollment and academic performance).
In addition, its infrastructure allows for the opening of new classes without the risk of overcrowding. The transition to a high school will allow students to continue their education at the same institution, ensuring continuity and modern learning conditions.
Second, the “Adrian Păunescu” Gymnasium will be reorganized into an educational complex (gymnasium-kindergarten) with a Waldorf curriculum.
This initiative is a response to parents’ interest in this educational model and the need to increase the supply of kindergartens in the “Center” and “Botanic” sectors of the capital.
Within the complex, kindergarten groups and classes will be established that will operate in accordance with the principles of Waldorf pedagogy, focused on harmonious development, creativity, and learning through experience.
They are designed to develop each child’s abilities and strengthen their self-confidence.
The Waldorf classes will open on September 1, 2026, and the kindergarten groups will open once the renovation work is complete.
