At the annual General Meeting, the shareholders of Moldovagaz JSC heard reports on the activities of the Management Board, the Supervisory Board, and the Audit Commission for 2025.

Vlad Batrincha, Deputy Speaker of the legislature, called for parliamentary hearings with the participation of Anca Dragu, Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), during a plenary session. He demanded clarification regarding the monthly salaries and the actual contributions of each member of the NBM Supervisory Board.

Following a meeting on June 25 between representatives of “Forța Fermierilor” and the Speaker of Parliament, a decision was made to suspend the farmers’ protests. This is because the farmers “received a signal… indicating a willingness to consider the possibility of not adopting the budget and tax policy with a 20% VAT rate.”

A Category C industrial park with investments exceeding 40 million lei will be built in Sîngerei. According to a decision by the Cabinet of Ministers, the project will be located on eight plots totaling 6.37 hectares, which have been transferred to the municipal enterprise “Apa Canal Singerei” for long-term use for a period of at least 30 years. The park will be developed under the brand name “Sîngerei-Centru-Europei.”

Reports have emerged in the Moldovan media that farmers participating in a peaceful protest are attempting to block roads near border crossings with their farm equipment. There have been instances where certain checkpoints temporarily suspended operations. The editorial staff of Logos Press asked two former ministers of agriculture to offer their assessment—not from a legal perspective, but from a civic one—of these actions by farmers.

The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova has published a Memorandum of Understanding with the U.S. companies SBCC and Wheeler Machinery Co. to develop a project for a gas-fired power plant with a capacity of at least 100 MW. The purpose of publishing the document has not been specified.

A batch of spices (turmeric, NGR Turmeric / Haldi Powder Kurkuma, in 100-gram packages, expiration date: December 31, 2027), which was distributed to retailers in Moldova, is being recalled from stores at the initiative of the manufacturer (Kreyenhop & Kluge GmbH & Co. KG).

The farmers’ protests on June 24 concluded with negotiations at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA). The talks were attended by representatives of several organizations of agricultural producers, traders, and processors on one side, and Minister Liudmila Katlabuga on the other.

As of the end of June this year, approximately 10,000 metric tons of apples from the 2025 harvest remain in the cold storage facilities of Moldovan fruit-growing and trading companies.

The agricultural risk management system was analyzed at an interagency meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA). This system will become part of the National Program to Enhance Agricultural Sustainability for 2027–2030.

As part of his working visit to Austria, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugen Osmochescu met with Gerd Müller, Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Gerd Müller, during which the Country Partnership Program for the Republic of Moldova for 2026–2032 was officially signed.

Women’s representation in the administrative bodies of government agencies and their participation in decision-making processes were discussed at the forum “Women Trade Unionists—An Active Voice for a Just Future.” The event was organized by the National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova. Delegates from government agencies, employers’ associations, trade unions, and other civil society organizations participated in the event.

The state-owned enterprise “Moldovan Railways” (CFM) has resumed container transport by rail through the port of Giurgiulești. The company successfully completed an operation to transship containers between tracks of different gauges.

Today, farmers from 13 districts across the country took to the roads and parked their farm equipment on the roadside. National media outlets reported that the Cahul border crossing had been blocked. They also report that farmers from the Ungheni district “are heading to Vama-Sculeni, where they will stay at a specially equipped overnight camp.” Tomorrow, farmers from the Hîncești district may join the protest.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is currently financing 75 major projects in Moldova. Since it began operations in the country in 1992, the bank has invested more than 3.1 billion euros in approximately 200 projects.

In Moldova, internal migration is actively underway. Rural residents are moving to cities, causing many small villages to become depopulated and lose their demographic potential. In 2025, internal migration led to an increase of 5,1 thousand people in the population of urban areas, at the expense of rural areas.

The start of negotiations on a financial agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Investment Bank regarding the implementation of the “Livada Moldovei II” project was approved at today’s government meeting. The project provides for a concessional loan of 150 million euros, intended to modernize and strengthen the agri-food sector.

The administrative reform proposed by the authorities seeks a one-size-fits-all solution for different regions. The government looks at a map and sees city administrations, budgets, and population sizes—and is tempted to think: if the problem looks the same, it can be solved the same way. That is a mistake.

The dispute between the leadership of the Pork Producers Association, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, representatives of the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Industry (MAIA) regarding support for the Moldovan pig farming industry has become a public issue. By and large, this development does not bode well for either side.
