The Republic of Moldova will become the 40th contracting state of the European Patent Organization on June 1, 2026. Chisinau deposited its instrument of accession to the European Patent Convention (EPC) on March 25, 2026, thus taking the last step towards becoming a contracting party.

Another EU state has signed an Agreement on Social Security with Moldova. According to it, Moldovan citizens who officially worked in Slovakia will be able to receive pensions and other social benefits from this state.
