
The conference, held for the fifth time, became a platform for dialog and exchange of experience on current challenges related to illicit cross-border trafficking of goods and modern mechanisms to counter it.
During the session dedicated to the contribution of customs authorities in preventing and combating illicit trafficking of goods, the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova was represented by Andrei Sheremet, Deputy Head of the Anti-Fraud and Compliance Department, who presented the results obtained in the fight against cross-border crime, the measures taken to strengthen institutional capacity, as well as the priority areas for development and international cooperation.
In his presentation, Andrei Sheremet emphasized the important role of international cooperation, rapid information exchange and common risk analysis mechanisms in combating cross-border criminal phenomena.
At the same time, he emphasized that the effectiveness of actions to prevent and counter trafficking in goods depends on strengthening functional partnerships and developing active cooperation between law enforcement agencies at the regional and international levels.
