In the period from July 2025 to February 2026 inclusive, the Republic of Moldova exported 66.8 thousand tons of sunflower oil, which is almost six times higher than the extremely low volume of the previous season (only 11.65 thousand tons). In the current season, the processing of products inside the country resumed.

With the beginning of spring agricultural works, the National Center for Research and Seed Production (CNCPS) will intensify its activities in production and research areas. This year, the institution will allocate about 2.6 thousand hectares of agricultural land for commercial cultivation of spring crop seeds and experimental demonstration plots.

In January-February 2026, Moldova sent more than 17 thousand tons of grapes to foreign markets. Its exports continue in March, but the purchase prices of winegrowers are discouraging.

The business cooperative Agrostoc held its annual report and election meeting. The members of the cooperative re-elected Ion Tulej (head of Farm Prod) as chairman of the Agrostoc Administrative Board for one year. The administrative board renewed the contract of the current chairman of the executive office of the cooperative Igor Tagadiuk for four years. The cooperative’s short-term strategy is cautious but progressive development.

Last week, the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) authorized a total of 24.4 million lei in subsidies to be paid to farmers. While most of the previous tranche of payments from the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development of RM was mainly aimed at paying off the arrears of post-investment subsidies for 2024, the current one is subsidies in advance and for insurance.

Banks will have to be more careful with the rights of borrowers and give the right to early repayment of the loan, including the sale of pledged real estate and other “hard” currency.

The Council of the Association “Forța Fermierilor” approved Alexandru Slusar as the executive director of the organization.

On Friday, the governing Food Safety Agency (ANSA) issued an order authorizing the resumption of imports of frozen and chilled poultry meat from a poultry farm (Cherkassy, Ukraine) owned by Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP).

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, export growth, which began in July 2025, continued in January 2026.

Agricultural exports in 2025 have recovered after a three-year decline. However, its structure points to a serious problem: while supplies of raw materials are increasing, exports of processed products are declining.

A creditor will be obliged to resort to it before filing a statement of claim with a court. The innovation concerns a whole range of judicial disputes – civil, family and labor disputes, as well as criminal and administrative cases. But it will not apply to disputes in the tax, customs and administrative spheres.

Moldovan citizens who have legally worked in Canada and in Moldova will be able to receive pensions of both states for age, disability due to general diseases, as a result of accidents at work or occupational diseases, as well as for loss of breadwinner.

The Parliamentary Commission on Economy, Budget and Finance has expressed its support for retaining the rules on cash payments. The commissioners, who represent the parliamentary majority, argue that restrictions on cash payments, including a €10,000 limit for transactions between individuals, which comes into effect from July 2027, are important to combat the shadow economy.
