Moldova’s rich black soil is not suitable for cultivation of every crop. For example, the blueberry, which is very popular among European consumers today, prefers loam rather than black soil. In March 2025, the country sent abroad 18.5 thousand tons, and in the first spring month of 2024 – almost 22 thousand tons of apples.

Under the Growth Program, 17 agricultural producers, including one cooperative, will be consulted throughout the production cycle in the current agricultural season.

Agricultural land has become significantly cheaper in Ukraine. In February 2026, the average cost per hectare amounted to 69,800 hryvnia, which is almost 26,000 hryvnia lower than in January.

The Republic of Moldova ranks 110th (out of 209) in the world in terms of agricultural land area. We have 9,421 square miles for agricultural purposes.

The PROGRESS project – “Promoting Green Deal Readiness in Eastern Partnership countries” – was launched in Moldova.
