The ‘Livada Moldovei’ project: €600,000 for the modernisation of viticulture research

Around €600,000 has been invested in developing the intellectual property infrastructure of the National Institute for Applied Research in Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (INCAAMV). The investment was made as part of the ‘Livada Moldovei’ project, implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry with financial support from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

One of the project’s key components is the construction of a cold store for grapevine cuttings with an area of approximately 396 m². The project also involved connecting the facility to technical and utility infrastructure: the electricity grid, water supply, sewerage system and site landscaping.

Another key component of the INCAAMV investment project, supported by ‘Livada Moldovei’, was the establishment of a vine nursery covering more than 20 hectares, used for research and the production of vine cuttings. To mechanise operations at this nursery, the institute was equipped with specialised agricultural machinery: tractors, cultivators, and machines for applying fertiliser and pesticides.

The ‘Livada Moldovei’ project, initiated by the Moldovan Government, is being implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture with the support of the EIB. Among other things, it provides for the rehabilitation and funding of 13 educational and research institutions in Moldova. The budget available for these purposes is 18 million euros.
