The significance of the project is underlined by the partnership between the CHILL Festival, the International Festival of Literature and Translation in Chișinău (FILIT) and the Odessa International Literary Festival (ilo). For ilo, this season will mark its fourth held in exile — the festival has previously been hosted by Batumi, Bucharest and Kraków. Guests will include representatives from Moldova, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Poland, Portugal, Ukraine, Romania, Germany, Georgia, the UK and Sweden.
The festival programme combines literary readings, book launches and discussions, as well as film screenings, theatre performances and professional masterclasses. The festival will kick off at the Teatrul Fără Nume theatre with an opening ceremony, a welcome speech by the renowned Polish poet Tadeusz Dombrowski and a literary evening.

A themed discussion, ‘Chișinău – a meeting point between East and West’, preceded by an atmospheric special event – a trip on the ‘Literary Train’ to Castel Mimi.
Film screenings and public discussions with director Sergei Loznitsa (the programme includes the films ‘Two Prosecutors’ and ‘Babi Yar’).
A historical tour of Chisinau’s architectural heritage from the interwar period.
Special projects, including the VYTYNANKI REALITY exhibition of Ukrainian embroidered shirts at the Chisinau City History Museum and the Saving Cultural Heritage initiative, dedicated to protecting culture in times of war.
An interactive CHILL Zone, offering literary yoga sessions and DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) meet-ups, as well as special events for young people as part of the CHILL Network.
