At present, the final finishing works are being carried out in the central part of the square, where the future recreation and leisure area is taking shape. Work on the landscaping of green spaces will be completed shortly, and street furniture will be installed.
The following work has been carried out so far:
- laying of eco-friendly paving stones in the car park area;
- asphalting and repair of access roads between Bucharest Street and 31 August 1989 Street, including pavements;
- installation of street lighting along the entire perimeter of the site;
- improvements to the pavements along Bucharest Street and the relocation of the public transport stop to a new platform.
According to the Chisinau local administration, access to this section will be restricted in future. Access will be permitted only to service and supply vehicles belonging to local businesses, as well as to residents.
A new public transport stop platform is also being constructed in this section. It will be relocated to make the area more organised and safer for passengers and road users.
