Prime Minister Vasile Tofan welcomed the participants to the event and praised the energy and spirit of unity generated by the competition. The Prime Minister wished everyone at the starting line success and courage.
“It is a source of great pride to see so many people who, despite the rain and the cold, have decided to run through the streets of Chișinău today. What’s more, in addition to participants from the Republic of Moldova, we have participants from 59 countries,” said Vasile Tofan.

At the same time, the Prime Minister urged participants from abroad to discover the Republic of Moldova beyond the sporting event itself, to sample the traditional wines and cuisine, and to enjoy their time in our country.
Organised in its current format since 2015, the Chișinău Marathon has become a key event for promoting mass participation in sport and an active lifestyle. The competition also helps to promote Chișinău and the Republic of Moldova as destinations for international sporting events.
