The demand that elections be held in Gagauzia this fall under a proportional representation system is contrary to the Constitution and the current legislation of Moldova, and is therefore unacceptable.

The company is requesting an increase in the drinking water supply rate from 13.99 lei per cubic meter to 15.55 lei per cubic meter. The rate for sewer services may increase from 7.40 lei per cubic meter to 7.68 lei per cubic meter.

The Transnistrian authorities have not given up hope of successfully selling the Bender River Port, which is owned by the (internationally unrecognized) state. The facility will once again be put up for privatization. The owner intends to raise at least 1.2 million rubles (local currency, presumably, approximately $74,500).

The Chisinau authorities have promised to conduct a tender that is as transparent as possible to select a contractor for the project to renovate the capital’s city hall building.
