This was discussed today at the City Hall’s weekly operational meeting. As many companies as possible with experience in similar projects will be invited to participate in the tender.
“The city hall has both the resources and the commitment to do this, so it is important that as many participants as possible take part in the tender and that the conditions for participation are clear,” noted Mayor Ion Ceban.
Accordingly, information about the upcoming tender will be shared with international partners, embassies, business associations, and specialized construction companies both in Moldova and abroad, and will also be disseminated through all available communication channels.
As Logos Press previously reported, a large amount of work lies ahead that will take several years, given that this is a historic building of cultural and architectural value. The work will be carried out in several phases: first, the utility systems will be repaired, followed by the facade and roofs.
As a reminder, the current City Hall building was constructed on the initiative of Chisinau Mayor Karl Schmidt. The building of the fire station, located at the intersection of what are now Stefan cel Mare Boulevard and Vlaicu Pirkelab Street, was chosen for this purpose. The building was constructed between 1898 and 1901.
