The event was organized by the Belarusian Cultural Center of the Republic of Moldova, in collaboration with civil society organizations of the Belarusian community accredited with the Agency for Interethnic Relations. According to the organizers, the festival brought together about 100 participants—representatives of the Belarusian community and guests from both banks of the Dniester.

The program featured the traditions of the Kupale folk festival, workshops on wreath-making, stories about the history and symbolism of the festival, literary performances, and a concert featuring Belarusian artistic groups.

Participants also took part in traditional rituals associated with the festival, including a symbolic search for a fern flower, floating wreaths on the water, and dancing in a circle around a bonfire.

The government continues to support ethnocultural initiatives

According to the Agency for Interethnic Relations, financial support for the event is aimed at preserving the cultural heritage of national communities and fostering intercultural dialogue in Moldova.

Vyacheslav Ryabchinsky, Director of the Agency for Interethnic Relations, noted that ethnocultural diversity remains one of the country’s most important values, and that such events help preserve the cultural identity of national communities, foster mutual understanding, and strengthen social unity.

The agency stated that it intends to continue supporting projects aimed at promoting ethnocultural diversity, intercultural dialogue, and the preservation of the traditions of the national communities of the Republic of Moldova.
