In total, as part of this year’s municipal summer program, 10,000 schoolchildren from the municipality of Chisinau will be able to participate in a variety of activities—ranging from summer camps and sports programs to environmental, creative, and educational projects.
According to city officials, 1,448 children have already been accepted into 17 day camps, while 6,650 schoolchildren will spend their time at three permanent camps—“Alunelul,” “Poenita Vesela,” and “Cireshar”—will host 6,650 schoolchildren.
To date, nearly 4,000 children from the capital have been able to enjoy a vacation outside the city, surrounded by nature. Currently, 1,360 students and coaches are participating in sports camps.
As part of the “GREEN GATE 2026” environmental education and entertainment project, children are discovering nature and learning through hands-on and interactive activities. To date, the program has attracted 755 participants, including children with refugee status.
The summer recreation program is complemented by events organized by community centers for children and youth, as well as the B. P. Hășdeu Municipal Library.
