Logos Press Editorial Team
Logos Press is owned by the legal entity “Revista economică „Logos-pres” SA”, a joint-stock company whose sole owner is “Cașalot” SRL.
Logos Press is the successor to one of the oldest private periodical publications in the Republic of Moldova, the newspaper “Экономическое обозрение „Логос пресс””.
The newspaper was founded in November 1990 as an independent, non-partisan economic publication. Until 1 January 2026, it was published weekly on Fridays in Russian.
Since 1 January 2026, Logos Press has been published online in three languages: Russian, Romanian and English.
The publication maintains its economic focus while significantly expanding the range of topics and geographical scope of its coverage.
Today, Logos Press publishes analysis of processes and projects in key sectors of the national economy, as well as coverage of domestic and international markets for goods and services.
Its coverage includes banking and finance, insurance, foreign trade, investment, energy, capital markets, the agri-food sector, tourism, retail and HoReCa, as well as social issues.
The publication regularly reports on decisions of the Government and Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, while seeking to maintain an objective and balanced approach.
Following its transition to an online format, Logos Press also publishes material on the global economy and politics, developments in other countries, international markets, currencies, new technologies, innovation and artificial intelligence.
Editorial Team
Publication Director: Irina Matsenko
Irina Matsenko also serves as Deputy Editor-in-Chief and specialises in investment and market-related topics across various sectors of the economy.
She graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and completed doctoral studies at Moldova State University. She undertook an internship at the Complutense University of Madrid in Spain and teaches the course “Economic Journalism” at Moldova State University.
She has worked at Logos Press for more than 20 years. She is a recipient of the “Journalist of the Year” award, a member of the Council of the Economic Press Club, and a member of the Supervisory Council of the public company “Teleradio-Moldova”, having been appointed by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova for the 2021–2027 term.
Editor-in-Chief: Dmitrii Kalak
Dmitrii Kalak graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moldova State University and the Faculty of International Relations of the Academy of Public Administration under the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
He has more than 40 years of experience in journalism and spent over 20 years covering the foreign economic relations of the Republic of Moldova.
He was among the first journalists in the Republic of Moldova to write regularly about European integration. Since 2016, he worked as an editor of the newspaper “Экономическое обозрение „Логос-пресс””, and since 2024 he has worked with the Logos Press online portal.
He has twice been included among the top ten journalists in the Republic of Moldova, and in 2018 he received the “Person of the Year in Mass Media” award from the “Personalitatea” Foundation.
He taught “Investigative Journalism” at the Free International University of Moldova. He is co-author of the teaching materials “Economic Journalism” and “Investigative Journalism”, and author of a book from the “Personality of the Country” series.
Journalist-Analyst: Vadim Ketrari
Vadim Ketrari specialises in coverage of the agri-food sector in the Republic of Moldova and abroad.
He graduated from the Kyiv Technological Institute of Light Industry and the Faculty of History of Moldova State University.
He has worked in journalism since 1995 and has been with “Экономическое обозрение Logos Press” since 1998.
He previously served as Editor-in-Chief of Lider Agro and Agroexpert and participated in projects run by international organisations, including the United Nations and FAO.

Irina Kovalenko specialises in economic policy, macroeconomics, finance and financial markets.
She has more than 30 years of experience in journalism and has worked at Logos Press throughout that period.
Journalist-Analyst: Svetlana Rudenko
Svetlana Rudenko specialises in social and political affairs.
She graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moldova State University and completed the “Intercultural Communication” programme organised by the European University Viadrina and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
She has worked in the press services of public and private institutions, including the Office of the President, the Parliament Secretariat, local public authorities and maib.
She has collaborated with major news agencies, magazines and newspapers in the Republic of Moldova and abroad. She has experience in institutional communication, translation and publishing.
She has been awarded the “Meritul Civic” medal and other professional distinctions.
Journalist-Analyst: Igor Fomin
Igor Fomin specialises in foreign trade, energy, small business, new technologies, ecology, cryptocurrencies and investigative journalism.
He graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moldova State University and has worked for various media organisations.
In addition to journalism, he also has entrepreneurial experience.
He has worked at Logos Press since 2001.
Journalist-Analyst: Tatiana Shikirliiskaia
Tatiana Shikirliiskaia specialises in public finance and tax policy.
She graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Moldova State University and completed doctoral studies at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Bulgaria.
She worked at Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University, Sofia Slavic University and Moscow University of Foreign Languages.
She has collaborated with various media organisations in the Republic of Moldova and has worked at Logos Press since 2013.
Mission and Editorial Principles of Logos Press
The mission of Logos Press is to publish accurate, verified and useful information.
Its content is primarily intended for entrepreneurs, professionals, investors, representatives of public institutions and non-governmental organisations, foreign diplomatic missions in the Republic of Moldova, as well as all readers who want to better understand the economic context of current events.
The editorial team aims to cover economic, political and social topics in an objective and balanced manner and, where relevant, presents the positions of the main parties involved.
The editorial team aims to use primary sources, including official documents, public statements, data from government institutions, company reports, expert comments and other verifiable sources.
When preparing articles, the editorial team assesses the reliability of information, its context and any potential risk of distortion or misinterpretation.
When using material from international media, Logos Press includes direct links to the cited articles and sources whenever possible.
Editorial materials are generally published with the name of the author or the editorial team.
Analysis and commentary may reflect the views of the author. Where appropriate, such material may include a notice stating that the author’s opinion may not reflect the position of the editorial team.
Through this approach, Logos Press supports freedom of expression and pluralism of opinion in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Moldova.
When preparing interviews, the editorial team may allow the interviewee to review how their own responses have been presented before publication.
Corrections
If a factual error is identified in a published article, the editorial team reviews the matter, verifies the information and makes a correction where necessary.
Significant updates may be clearly marked for readers using notices such as “Updated”, “Additional Information” or “Clarification”.
The Logos Press editorial team follows the Code of Ethics for Journalists of the Republic of Moldova and its internal editorial standards.
Where justified concerns are raised regarding published content, the editorial team may provide a right of reply or an opportunity for the person concerned to present their position, in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Moldova.
