More than a million Facebook, Snapchat and YouTube accounts belonging to Australians under the age of 16 have been deactivated since the national ban came into effect. The figure was markedly higher than the authorities had expected. The social networks face fines of up to 49.5 million Australian dollars ($32 million) for violating the law.

This conclusion was reached by Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT) analysts after analyzing all confirmed cases of civilian deaths and injuries on both sides of the front, Logos Press reported.
