The National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) has transferred more than LE 1 billion 30 million in advance to health service providers for services to be rendered to the population in April.
New medical equipment worth 207,000 lei was installed at the health center from Singerei, which will allow patients to get the necessary tests on the spot.
The authorities summarize two years of operation of the electronic prescription system (e-Rețeta) for reimbursed medicines and medical devices. The system was launched on April 1, 2024 and has since become a central tool in the process of providing patients with reimbursed medicines. The National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) also believes that it has significantly increased transparency in the use of public funds.
Health insurance “closed” February with a deficit. In the first two months of the current year, the expenditures of the health insurance funds grew faster than the revenues. As a result, the fulfillment of obligations was completed with a deficit of 1.232 billion lei.
In the first two months of 2026, the National Health Insurance Company accumulated revenues of more than 1.8 billion lei in the compulsory health insurance funds (CHIF). Compared to the same period of 2025, they increased by 195 million lei (or 12%).
With equal income, a standard employed person pays 4 times more health insurance premiums than a freelancer. At the same time, both use health services to the same extent, which does not meet the principles of fairness and neutrality of taxation.
The total income registered by freelancers in the first month of the new tax regime amounted to 1,795,696.20 lei, while the amount of the calculated single tax amounted to 269,354.43 lei, Logos Press reported.
