Funding will be allocated to the development and updating of software, the modernisation of server infrastructure and ensuring the system’s cybersecurity.
The new system will enable reporting at the level of individual installations, expand the list of regulated pollutants and activities, and ensure public access to information on industrial emissions.
The requirements will apply to a wide range of industrial facilities — thermal power stations, steelworks and cement plants, chemical plants, large waste treatment facilities, as well as pig and poultry farms. The scheme will also include large quarries and mining enterprises, wastewater treatment plants, industrial fish farms, and shipbuilding and ship-breaking facilities.
The project aims to implement European legislation and bring the national system into line with the EU’s standards for monitoring and ensuring the transparency of data on industrial emissions.
