Erling Haaland
This is according to TEAMtalk. The Norwegian striker extended his contract with the English club by nine years in early 2025. It was reported at the time that clauses regarding a fixed release fee, which had featured in previous agreements, had been removed from the new contract.
However, sources close to the two Spanish clubs believe that Haaland’s contract may still contain clauses allowing him to leave Manchester City.
Furthermore, according to a source, there is an understanding between the player and the English club’s management. Should Haaland decide he needs a new challenge, City are prepared to consider the possibility of his departure.
That said, the 25-year-old striker is currently showing no desire to leave Manchester. Haaland continues to play for Manchester City and remains committed to the club, despite regular rumours of a possible move to one of the Spanish giants.
It is not yet known how much they intend to pay for Haaland. However, he could cost around €175 million. His contract with Manchester City stipulates this release clause for clubs from other leagues, whilst experts estimate the Norwegian’s market value at a record €220 million.
