Bayern Munich comfortably beat Norwegian side Bude Glimt 5–0 at home. Nikita Khaykin, a Russian player with a Norwegian passport, started for the visitors and managed to keep a clean sheet in the first half.
However, he was substituted at half-time due to injury, and Bayern went on to score five unanswered goals. The goalscorers were Jamal Musiala, Harry Kane, Alphonso Davies and Michael Olise. The Frenchman scored a brace.
Meanwhile, Bude Glimt failed to register a single shot on target against the Munich side throughout the entire match.
Italian side Como played their first-ever Champions League match and immediately secured a resounding victory. The team thrashed German side RB Leipzig 4–1.
England’s Manchester United had no trouble in their match against Azerbaijan’s Sabah. The match ended 4–0 in favour of the Mancunians.
The visitors had 11 shots on target, but none of them found the net.
The most dramatic match was between Prague’s Slavia and French side Lens.
The home side took the lead twice – first at 1–0, and then at 2–1. It looked as though Slavia would hold on for the win, but the visitors launched a veritable onslaught in the closing stages.
Lens scored twice in stoppage time. In the end, the French side snatched a 3–2 victory.
