The Electronic Catalogue Information System (ECIS) is a platform through which teachers record pupils’ marks and absences, whilst parents and pupils can monitor the situation at school, lesson timetables and other information relating to the educational process.
The Ministry of Education and Science is organising training sessions this academic year for teachers from schools that are implementing the ECS for the first time. Teachers from around 400 schools will take part in the training sessions. They will learn how to use the platform in their teaching, including managing information on pupils’ marks, absences, homework and other data relating to the educational process.
The nationwide roll-out of the electronic register is also accompanied by measures to strengthen the digital infrastructure in educational institutions. In this regard, measures are planned to expand local area networks and improve internet access in 292 educational establishments.
By connecting all the country’s schools to the electronic register, the Ministry of Education aims to streamline administrative processes in schools, reduce the use of paper documents and provide teachers, pupils and parents with faster access to information about the educational process.
