Under the agreement, the Republic of Moldova will receive grant aid totalling 4.32 million euros. The funds will be used to purchase the equipment and machinery required by the National Army.
The equipment will help strengthen the National Army’s response capability and support the authorities in managing crisis situations, including natural disasters.
The project contributes both to the modernisation of the national defence sector and to the development of the National Army’s capabilities to intervene in support of the population and state institutions when necessary.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Sergiu Plop, noted that the assistance provided to the Republic of Moldova supports the modernisation of the national defence sector and helps to enhance the capacity of state institutions to respond effectively in crisis situations.
“Beyond equipment and capabilities, people remain at the heart of all these joint efforts. The safety and welfare of our citizens are a priority for us. That is why the National Army, alongside the relevant authorities, is always there where help is needed. By strengthening these capabilities, we are ensuring that we will have the necessary resources to respond promptly, effectively and responsibly when required,” said Sergiu Plop.
