“I am taking up my post as Director-General of the Public Property Agency fully aware of the complexity and importance of this field. The management of state assets, the governance of state-owned enterprises and the protection of the public interest require competence, transparency, discipline and responsible decision-making,” Dodon wrote in a social media post.
He announced that he is taking over the leadership of the APP after nearly five years at the helm of the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM).
“I look back on my nearly five years at the CNAM with gratitude and a sense of responsibility that I have fulfilled to the very end. It was a period marked by many challenges, but also by significant changes in the management of compulsory health insurance funds, relations with healthcare and pharmaceutical providers, and citizens’ access to medical services, medicines and reimbursed medical devices,” Dodon noted.
He thanked the CNAM team and institutional partners for their collaboration. Recently, during a meeting of the National Commission for Collective Bargaining, Dodon stated that, according to the latest estimates, the revenues of the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund in 2027 could increase by approximately 1.47 billion lei.
Dodon states that he is embarking on this new phase with the same sense of responsibility and commitment to his work.
Ion Dodon holds a law degree and a master’s degree in the legal regulation of health insurance. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions within the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection (including that of State Secretary), the Ministry of Justice and the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
