“The Ministry is currently in the process of preparing the Energy Compensation Scheme for the 2026–2027 winter season. We would like to clarify that registration for compensation will begin on 2 November, as in previous years. We apologise for any confusion caused. We will provide all the details in good time, so that every family knows exactly when and how they can apply for the compensation.”
The day before, Natalia Plugaru had stated that registration for winter season allowances would begin on 1 October.
“It remains the same for the whole winter period, as we’ve come to expect: November, December, January, February and March – so five months. Registration will begin on 1 October, as people are used to, when you submit your application and register. We are currently in discussions and carrying out calculations to see how we can better target the households that will be affected, and where we need to adjust the criteria to highlight, in particular, the families who will face the greatest burden in paying those bills,” the minister said on the public radio station.
