According to the document, pharmacies may be opened in any settlement provided that legislative requirements are met.

As previously reported by Logos Press, the Ministry of Health has once again put forward for public consultation a draft regulation setting out new rules for the operation of pharmacies and market monitoring procedures.

The draft proposes establishing seven types of pharmaceutical outlets: community pharmacies and their branches, pharmacy outlets, hospital and university pharmacies, mobile pharmacies and medicine dispensing machines.

Pharmacy branches, outlets, mobile pharmacies and medicine vending machines will operate under the management of a parent pharmacy. Owners of large chains operating at least 30 pharmacy outlets will be required to ensure that at least one full-service pharmacy is in operation in every settlement where the chain operates.

In villages where there are no pharmacies, a fast-track procedure for opening them is proposed. A ban is being introduced on the preparation and dispensing of medicines containing narcotic and psychotropic substances. Mobile pharmacies and dispensing machines will be launched as pilot projects for a period of three years.

Only over-the-counter medicines approved by the Ministry of Health may be purchased from pharmacy vending machines. Patients must also be provided with the option of remote consultation with a pharmacist.
