Donald Trump said he supports the idea of Vladimir Putin meeting with Zelensky, TASS reported.
“I think it would be great if they met. They should do it,” the US president told reporters at the White House.
He called Zelensky and Putin “good people” from two “incredible countries.”
He also added that America had “done a lot” for the meeting.
He also expressed the opinion that Moscow and Kiev would make compromises to achieve peace.
Earlier, Zelensky published an open letter to Putin, in which he outlined his previous conditions for peace with Russia.
Russian presidential aide Dmitry Peskov said that Zelensky could come to Moscow at any time if he wanted to meet with the Russian president.
