Trump has decided not to charge fees for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz

Donald Trump announced that the United States will not charge fees for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. president posted this on the social media platform Truth Social.

According to Trump, he held “productive talks” with Middle Eastern leaders, after which he decided to replace the tariff with “trade and investment agreements” that Gulf countries will conclude with Washington.

“These investments will be enormous, but at the same time extremely beneficial for them and their future,” Trump said.

He added that the complete blockade of the Strait of Hormuz remains in place only for ships traveling to and from Iranian ports, as well as those carrying Iranian cargo.
