According to the ministry, ships were struck in the ports of Chornomorsk and Dnipro-Bug. At the same time, strikes were carried out against port infrastructure facilities in Odesa and Chornomorsk. Among the targets, the ministry cited tanks containing fuel and lubricants intended to supply the Ukrainian army, as well as facilities for the production and assembly of drones.
It is reported that the port of Yuzhny in the Odessa region was struck. It is used for unloading fuel and lubricants; specifically, seven fuel and lubricant tanks are intended to supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A strike was also carried out against a dry cargo ship delivering military supplies and a tanker en route from the port of Chornomorsk to the port of Odesa.
According to RBC, this attack was a continuation of a series of strikes on Ukrainian ports that the Russian Ministry of Defense has been reporting since the end of last week. According to statements by the Ministry of Defense, strikes were carried out on the ports of Chornomorsk, Yuzhny, and Izmail, as well as on facilities in Kyiv that, according to the Russian side, were used for the production and storage of drones.
The Ukrainian side has not yet confirmed the Russian Defense Ministry’s claims regarding the destruction of ships and port infrastructure facilities.
It should be noted that the port of Chornomorsk accounts for up to 90% of Ukraine’s agricultural exports and serves as a critical logistics hub for the delivery of military supplies and fuel to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The port of Yuzhny is responsible for the export of Ukrainian agricultural and mining and metallurgical products and is part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ logistics chain.
