Vasile Tofan Revealed Assets Worth Millions

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan filed a declaration of assets and personal interests in connection with his appointment to the position, listing his income for 2025 earned both in Moldova and abroad.

According to the declaration, prior to his appointment as prime minister, Tofan received a salary of $300,000 from Horizon Capital, as well as a performance bonus of $317,680. In addition, he received 768,700 lei from MAIB as compensation for his service on the Board of Directors.

The prime minister also reported significant investment income. From Interactive Brokers, he reported realized gains, dividends, and interest totaling $163,200, and from BT Capital Partners, dividends and interest amounting to 349,700 Romanian lei and 5,300 euros. Other income was derived from investments through Revolut and the One Way Ventures investment funds.

Tofan also reported income in the form of interest on loans. Specifically, nearly $26,000 from Independent Trust Media and $1,500 from OddSystems Inc. In the declaration, these receipts are listed as “interest on loans.”

A significant portion of the declared income consists of rental income from real estate. For several apartments and parking spaces in Ukraine, the prime minister reported a total annual rental income of $91,800.

Real Estate

The declaration shows that Vasyl Tofan owns several plots of land and real estate properties, including some in Ukraine.

The prime minister declared several apartments, including an 86.4 m² apartment valued at 3.63 million hryvnias, a 79.6-square-meter apartment worth 5.52 million hryvnias, and a 63.9-square-meter apartment valued at approximately 4.06 million hryvnias.

The declaration also lists a residential building with an area of 141 m², purchased in 2021, valued at 142,700 euros. The property is listed as being held in joint ownership.

Vehicles

In the section on vehicles, Tofan declares a 2022 Mercedes-Benz valued at 106,000 euros.

In addition, he declares a 2012 Volvo XC60, which he has the right to use, as well as a 2011 Toyota Auris valued at 6,000 euros.

Financial Assets Worth Millions

The most significant assets in the declaration are financial assets. Tofan listed assets totaling approximately $2.12 million with Interactive Brokers and approximately $3.24 million with Wise.

At BT Capital Partners, he declared assets totaling approximately 17.44 million Romanian lei. In addition, the prime minister listed funds and investments in Revolut, One Way Ventures Fund, ABN AMRO, Mintos, MAIB, Banca Transilvania, and other financial institutions.

This is an initial declaration, submitted in connection with Vasile Tofan’s appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova on July 22, 2026.
