
The most significant decline was recorded in routine maintenance and repairs, which fell by 20.7%. New construction also declined, with volumes dropping by 4.9%. Major repairs declined by a slightly smaller margin—2.9%.
The “other construction work” category, which includes demolition and site preparation, showed growth. Its volume increased by 11.9%.
A decline was observed in the nonresidential buildings segment, where the volume of work fell by 19.2%. At the same time, the decline in residential buildings was more moderate, at 2.8%.
Construction of civil engineering structures—including roads, utility networks, and other infrastructure projects—declined by 3.4%.
Overall, in the second quarter, the total volume of construction work decreased by 6.3% compared to the same period in 2025. Declines were recorded in routine maintenance and repair work, as well as in non-residential buildings.
At the same time, despite the decline this year, the total volume of construction work in the first half of 2026 remains approximately 24% higher than the level recorded during the same period in 2024.
