The CEC assured that it is ready to provide the necessary logistical support for conducting the vote within the scope of its authority.

The meeting took place ahead of the elections, which will be observed by a delegation from Moldova’s CEC. The parties discussed the modernization of the electoral process, the use of information technology, the training of election officials, the opening of polling stations abroad, and the cybersecurity of the electoral infrastructure.

The August 23 elections will be the first for Kazakhstan’s new unicameral parliament, the Kurultai. It was established in accordance with the country’s new Constitution, adopted by referendum on March 15, 2026.

Kazakhstani authorities emphasize the historic significance of the upcoming elections and their particular socio-political importance for the country.

Cooperation between the electoral authorities of Moldova and Kazakhstan is carried out on the basis of a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2013.
