The events, which were attended by a total of about 200 participants, were organized by the Competition Council in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry as part of an EU project and with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova.
European experts provided participants with an opportunity to analyze, from a practical perspective, the challenges and opportunities arising from the application of competition and state aid rules, as well as their impact on business operations.
Speaking to business leaders, Alina Cebotariov, Chair of the Competition Council, emphasized that the development of a competitive economy depends not only on the existence of a modern legal framework but also on the business community’s level of understanding and adoption of competition rules.
“Healthy competition stimulates investment, innovation, and economic growth. In this context, ongoing dialogue with the business community and the promotion of a culture of compliance are crucial elements in strengthening a predictable and fair economic environment. “The Competition Council strives to be not only a regulatory body but also a reliable partner in the process of informing and raising awareness among businesses,”noted Alina Cebotariov.
During the event, experts also emphasized the importance of complying with competition rules, the risks associated with anti-competitive practices, and the benefits of cooperation between companies and antitrust authorities to prevent violations and avoid sanctions.
Participants were also briefed on the obligations of recipients of state aid and the need for the effective and transparent use of public resources.
