This is one of the provisions of the draft of the new Waste Management Law prepared by the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

According to another provision, starting in 2028, packaging or the product itself must display clear and indelible information about the presence of plastic in its composition, waste management methods, and so on.

At the same time, manufacturers will be required to promote reusable alternatives and explain the harm caused by plastic pollution and the consequences of waste accumulation in the environment and sewer systems.

Additionally, new requirements for PET packaging will take effect in 2028. All plastic lids and caps on single-use bottles with a capacity of up to three liters must remain attached to the packaging during use.

In addition, manufacturers will be required to report annually on the proportion of recycled materials in their products. According to the draft, PET packaging must contain at least 25% recycled plastic starting in 2028 and at least 30% starting in 2030.
