“The greatest challenge facing your generation will be how to navigate this world of artificial intelligence and how to make use of it – but to do so by drawing on critical thinking and an awareness of the risks. So that you remain human beings with human values that machines will never possess, and make decisions that are good for you and for humanity, not decisions imposed by algorithms,” said the Head of State.
She urged young people not to fall into “the trap of technologies that constantly demand your attention.”
The fifth edition of the Moldova Youth Forum began today, 12 September, in Holercani, on the banks of the Dniester. The event brings together young people, officials, experts and opinion leaders for two days of discussions on democracy, freedom, community and resilience.
This year’s edition features a format centred on direct dialogue, practical workshops, teamwork and outdoor activities. The organisers say the new format aims to create a space for dialogue where young people’s voices can be turned into action.
Representatives from the National Youth Agency, embassies and GIZ Moldova are taking part in the forum.
One of the main sessions on the first day is dedicated to democracy and is entitled ‘The generation that decides Moldova’s future’.
The Moldova Youth Forum 2026 will continue on 13 September.
