During the competition, staff from INCAAMV’s Department of Genetic Resources and Breeding of Fruit and Berry Crops presented 10 indigenous grape varieties, including five seedless ones. The evaluation was based on a wide range of characteristics: ripening times, aroma, flesh texture, presence or absence of seeds, and so on.
The competition was organised by the ‘Valea Călugărească’ Research Institute of Viticulture and Oenology and the ‘Gheorghe Ionescu-Șișești’ Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, in collaboration with the Romanian Society of Horticulturists.
