The event was attended by representatives of the working groups responsible for the negotiation chapters, the business community, professional organisations and civil society, who discussed the progress made, priorities for the coming period and the necessary steps in the process of European integration.

Update of the National Programme for Accession to the EU

Opening the consultations, Lydia Ababiy, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Finance, emphasised the importance of updating the National Accession Programme in the context of the official opening on 13 October 2026 of accession negotiations on Cluster 2 ‘Internal Market’ and Cluster 3 ‘Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth’.

She thanked the teams involved in preparing and conducting the negotiation process, highlighting the joint efforts that had made the opening of the two clusters possible.

Cluster 3 is aimed at developing a competitive, innovative and inclusive economy linked to the European Union’s single market, and the relevant reforms will help to strengthen the economic environment and create new opportunities for Moldova’s development, emphasised Lidia Ababii.

The consultations covered the following areas: the information society and the media; taxation; economic and monetary policy; industrial and enterprise policy; science and research; education and culture; and the Customs Union.

Following a preliminary discussion of the updated National Action Plan, a broader phase of consultations on the draft will take place with all stakeholders. The document will then undergo review and approval in accordance with established procedures.
