The deputy foreign minister stressed that Belarus did not build up its military arsenals and did not multiply its defense budget. This is done by its neighbors Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.

In 2025, their total military expenditures exceeded €52 billion. This is 25 times more than the amount of funds, allocated for defense by Belarus. Already this year, these countries intend to take a new bar of military spending – 5% of GDP.

“Do the countries, which have concerns, refuse contacts and dialog? – Belarusian news agency BELTA quoted the diplomat. – Our Western neighbors ignored Minsk’s invitation to participate in the observation of the joint military exercise “West-2025.”

Western countries have been completely ignoring for several years now the existing military and political instruments that would allow to address these concerns: the Vienna Document 2011 on confidence- and security-building measures and bilateral agreements in this area, he emphasized.

“The Republic of Belarus urges all European countries, including Germany, to resume a professional and depoliticized dialogue on security issues,” Igor Secretary said.
