The “Petru Costin” Collection Gallery in Ialoveni hosted a large-scale presentation of the collection, each item of which had once been used for its intended purpose.
Petru Costin and his team spent more than 13 hours straight presenting and counting each horseshoe. To verify the result, each one was photographed and assigned a unique number.
All the collected materials will now be submitted to the Guinness World Records. Representatives of the organization must review the evidence and confirm whether the collection meets all the requirements for setting a new world record. A decision is expected after the review is complete, which may take at least two weeks.
If the record is confirmed, the 17,000 horseshoes will become the world’s largest collection of its kind.
This is not Petr Kostin’s first attempt to make it into the Guinness World Records. In 2011, he set a record by presenting 3,200 horseshoes, and in 2021, he broke his own record with 13,800 horseshoes.
According to established procedure, the collected materials and evidence will be reviewed by representatives of Guinness World Records. The verification process may take at least two weeks, after which an official decision will be announced regarding compliance with all requirements and confirmation of the new record.
