
In this context, the Ministry of Finance organized a public discussion of draft regulations in the areas of accounting, financial reporting, and auditing. The event was attended by representatives of the business community, professional and trade associations, academia, and government agencies.
Directive 2013/34/harmonizes national accounting standards across EU countries, simplifies reporting for SMEs, increases the transparency of financial information for investors and other stakeholders, and aligns the rules with international standards (IFRS).
It applies to: joint-stock companies (public and private), limited liability companies, limited partnerships with share capital, and other forms, but does not apply to banks and insurance companies.
Natalia Tonu, Head of the Department of Accounting and Audit Policy for the Corporate Sector at the Ministry of Finance, emphasized that the proposed amendments are aimed at completing the transposition of the European Union’s acquis communautaire, taking into account the national context and the needs of the business community.
In addition, meeting participants discussed new legislative provisions related to corporate income tax reporting, payments to the state, and sustainability reporting. They had the opportunity to provide their comments and recommendations to the drafters of the legislation.
