ACAP Moldova marks 30 years of advancing the accounting profession

ACAP has been serving the profession for three decades

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the registration of the Association of Professional Accountants and Auditors of Moldova (ACAP) in Moldova. Throughout this time, it has helped strengthen the role of accounting and auditing in Moldova’s economic development. And Logos Press has always been its active partner.

ACAP’s history began on July 30, 1996, when the first general meeting was held at the initiative of a group of 31 enthusiastic professionals in the fields of accounting and auditing. The association was officially registered on August 16, 1996. Since then, it has played an active role in reforming the accounting and auditing systems in Moldova — from the development of the first National Accounting Standards (NAS) and Auditing Standards (AAS) to the adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the harmonization of national legislation with the requirements of EU directives.

Today, ACAP RM has approximately 1,000 members and is recognized at both the national and international levels, maintaining its status as the country’s leading professional community. This has been made possible, in part, by the development of international partnerships. The Association is a full member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), an associate member of the International Federation of French-Speaking Accountants (FIDEF), and a full member of the Eurasian Council of Certified Accountants and Auditors (ECCBA).

Over the years, ACAP RM has developed the community’s expert potential and professional competencies. More than 1,800 professionals annually participate in continuing education programs in accounting, auditing, and taxation, and over 100 people obtain their accounting certification through the association.

Anniversary Event – August 20, 2026

At the same time, the organization’s anniversary serves as a starting point for its future growth. To mark this milestone on August 20, 2026, ACAP will host a celebratory event. A hybrid format is planned, combining in-person participation with a live online broadcast.

Panel discussions will be held as part of the business program. The main topics of discussion will include current challenges and opportunities for the profession, issues related to digitalization, economic transformations, and further integration with international standards and EU directives.
