The Moldovan delegation includes: Mircea Pancu, Director of the Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring Agency; Alena Isaac, Head of the Hydrological Monitoring Section and Deputy National Coordinator for the UNCCD; Tudor Castravets, Vice Rector for Research at UPSC and UNCCD Correspondent for Research and Technology, according to the MOLDPRES news agency.
“Our country’s participation in COP17 provides an opportunity to present our national experience and actions in the areas of land restoration, soil degradation prevention, and increasing resilience to drought. During the conference, the Republic of Moldova will promote the goals of achieving land degradation neutrality (LDN), sustainable management of natural resources, and measures to adapt to climate change,” according to a statement from the Office of Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring.
By participating in COP17, the Republic of Moldova reaffirms its commitment to international cooperation and the search for sustainable solutions to protect and restore land, the meteorological agency notes.
