In this vein, CCI RM implements systems of vocational training and professional development, develops curricula that meet the needs of the labor market, and supports the expansion of dual education, thus contributing to strengthening the link between education and the business community.
Linking education and business
This was stated by the head of CCI, Sergiu Harya, at today’s event “Competitive and Inclusive Vocational Education and Training”. The event was dedicated to strengthening the dialog between the educational and business environment, as well as promoting the vocational training system.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry participates in the events of the Education Week, which is held in Moldova for the third time. This year’s program includes more than 20 events.
The panel discussion “People behind the reforms” touched upon the competences needed on the labor market and the adaptation of education to technological changes.
Sergiu Harya presented the services offered by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the training and development of human resources, including advanced training courses, training programs for the business community, and initiatives to promote dual education to foster a competitive workforce.
Enterprise pays minimum wage to students
The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry emphasized that Moldova has one of the highest compensations in the dual training system in Europe. The employers receive from the state budget a compensation for half of the expenses incurred for the organization and carrying out of apprenticeship programs. The legislation provides for the possibility of increasing this compensation for certain categories of workers or industries.
The funds cover the cost of mentors’ salaries, insurance premiums, and the purchase of necessary consumables and overalls for the trainees.
The legislation stipulates that an enterprise must pay trainees a wage that cannot be lower than the guaranteed minimum wage in the real sector of the economy.
