One of the highlights of the first day was the unveiling of a rug that the organizers describe as the largest ever woven in Moldova. It was produced by Covoare Ungheni. The rug measures 4 by 12 meters, with an area of 48 square meters. The exhibition organizers announced that a first national record had been set as part of this year’s event.
The exhibition is being held under the slogan “Tradiție și Mândrie” (“Tradition and Pride”) and brings together producers from various sectors of the Moldovan economy.
Representatives of government agencies and the business community attended the official opening. The musical program on the first day featured performances by the Yaloven District Council brass band, the “Porumbița” district folk music orchestra, and Pasha Parfeni.
A Rich Program
Various events, contests, and musical performances have been organized as part of the exhibition. In particular, on August 29, Moldexpo will host the National Placinta Festival, featuring culinary demonstrations and tastings. On the same day, the organizers plan to set a second national record—making the largest cherry placinta in Moldova.
The “Topul Cramelor 2026” ceremony is also scheduled for August 29, and the musical program will feature performances by Igor Cuciuc, Costi Burlacu, and Corina Țepeș.
As part of the exhibition, a food drive is also being held for Casa Valeriu—a space for people with cancer and their families. Visitors can purchase products from exhibitors and donate them to a box set up specifically for this charity drive.
The “Produs Autohton 2026” exhibition will take place August 28–30, 2026, at the Moldexpo International Exhibition Center. It is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova under the patronage of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization.
