Bucharest Fashion Week
The polarity of the two collections
During the week, the Altezza collection by L. Storojuc – “Axis”, built around the combination of minimalism and functionality. Architectural jackets, clearly structured silhouettes and tactile materials form a versatile closet that is not tied to seasonal variations. These are garments designed not for visual impact, but for long-term use.
Another approach is demonstrated by Ok Kino, which works with the themes of memory and inner state. The collection is built around a sense of frozen time: white color and its shades are used as a tool to convey an emotional state. In contrast to more structured solutions, the emphasis here is shifted towards atmosphere and soft form. The difference in approaches shows an important trend: Moldovan designers do not form a single visual style, but develop in different directions, which indicates the formation of a full-fledged professional scene.
Stylistically, the Fall-Winter 2026 season showed the region’s characteristic concentration on materiality and construction. Leather, dense fabrics, precise cuts and intricate handwork – from embroidery to drapery – reflect not only aesthetic choices but also the production basis of Eastern European fashion.
Practicality and logic are in fashion
Designers are rethinking classic forms: evening wear is becoming more casual, elements of men’s closet are adapting to women’s silhouette logic, and minimalism is taking on a more rigid, architectural character.
In this context, Moldovan designers are developing within the framework of general trends, emphasizing practicality and durability.
It is also important that Bucharest Fashion Week is gradually moving beyond a purely visual event. The presence of international buyers, participation of educational institutions and interaction with state structures indicate the formation of an industrial ecosystem.
Although Bucharest Fashion Week still has to strengthen its infrastructure and increase its international recognition, the direction of its development is already clear. The status of the industry is changing from a local scene to a broader participation in the European fashion market.
