Although Moldova continues to produce highly qualified specialists, technology professionals, and promising startups, access to early-stage investment remains limited—and the ESIL Moldova program is designed to address this very issue.

The program will provide aspiring and established business angels with training, mentoring, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, presentation opportunities, and access to experienced investor communities across Europe. Events will take place both in Chisinau and online and will cover startup valuation, fundraising, syndication, and cross-border investments.

The project is funded by the European Union and co-financed by the French government through Expertise France as part of the EU4Innovation East program.

“Moldova has talented entrepreneurs with great innovative potential, but successful startup ecosystems also need investors who are willing to share their experience, mentor founders, and take calculated risks. ESIL Moldova aims to help create a more active, interconnected, and internationally engaged investment community,” said Charles Mathieu, Deputy Director of the EU4Innovation East project.

“Investing through business angels is best understood in practice, through real investment decisions and interaction with experienced peers. “We want to help investors in Moldova gain the confidence, discipline, and connections needed to support promising founders over the long term,” — said Cosmin Kurtikepian, Vice President of TechAngels and ESIL Moldova program coordinator on behalf of TechAngels.

ESIL Moldova builds on the experience of the Early Stage Investing Launchpad, which has been working since 2017 to strengthen business angel ecosystems across Europe, particularly in countries where organized early-stage investing remains underdeveloped.
